Darin Mydland Receives Wade Christiansen Purple Heart Scholarship Award for 2025
Congratulations to Darin Mydland! The Wade Christiansen Purple Heart Scholarship Fund and the Montana State University Veterans Support Center are pleased to recognize Darin as the 2025 recipient of the annual scholarship award.
Darin served in the Coast Guard on active duty from 2007-2021, achieving the rank of E-5 before medical retirement. In his time with the Coast Guard, Darin had numerous responsibilities including construction, welding, facilities maintenance, seamanship, firefighting, law enforcement, and much more.
Darin is currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering technology at Montana State University. He is focused on advanced manufacturing research with the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department.



The Wade Christiansen Purple Heart Scholarship Fund will continue making awards to outstanding military veterans like Darin for years to come. Please consider a one-time or recurring donation to the project. All donations are 100 percent federally tax-deductible, and every cent goes to military veterans and military families pursuing an education at Montana State University.
